Wilson Staff Golf is launching another forgiving, game improvement iron aimed at golfers looking for more control as well as distance. Inspired by the clubs used on Tour by Padraig Harrington, Marcus Brier and Anthony Wall, its mid-size shape is designed to reach a broad range of golfers in the low to mid-handicap bracket. Wilson Staff, which launched the club at the Munich trade show, says the new iron 'delivers maximum head stability, while the power generated by its thin face and undercut cavity are balanced by the forgiveness of its unique perimeter weighting.' Open champion Padraig Harrington was so impressed with the power and accuracy of the new Ci7, he's asked the company to make him a set to his own shaft specification.
The latest in shaft technologies is integrated into the Ci7, featuring Progressive Tip Design, which means a softer tip (lower kick point) in the long irons for higher ball flight, progressing to a stiffer tip (higher kick point) in the shorter irons to get the best control and accuracy. The steel option is the Tour-proven True Temper TX 105 lightweight shaft that generates increased swing speed for longer shots. It also features a low torque .450-wide tip to reduce twisting on off-centre hits for straighter shots.
