Callaway Golf has always had the same goal in mind when it comes to X Series irons – That is to set the performance standard for the industry to follow. In keeping with tradition the new X-22 irons don’t disappoint and are the best X series iron Callaway Golf has ever created. By redesigning the notch weighting and moving weight where it creates the most benefit, these irons boast a MOI that’s 10 percent higher than their predecessors, while the CG position has been preserved to generate optimal trajectory and distance control.
The modified Tru-Bore Technology has been incorporated, dampening vibration for enhanced feel and the tour-proven head shape has a slightly thinner topline and sole with a large sweet spot for improved aesthetics and forgiveness that will boost any golfers confidence. The new positioning of the notch weighting raises the MOI 10% higher than in the X-20 irons for the highest forgiveness ever in an X Series iron. The CG position was maintained, producing optimal trajectories and distance control.
The large effective hitting area generates enhanced forgiveness and the slightly thinner topline - tour proven head shape provide a sleeker look at address. An advanced version of the original Tru-Bore design, the polycarbonate tip plug at the end of the shaft dampens vibration for enhanced feel and performance while VFT maximises ball speed and perimeter weighting for more distance and forgiveness. S2H2 increases discretionary weight by removing it from the hosel and repositioning it in the perimeter of the clubhead while the 360 undercut channel maximises perimeter weighting by moving the CG lower and farther back in the clubhead, enlarging the hitting area and stabilising the clubhead for more forgiveness
