Cobra 2022 LTDx Driver Review
Since working alongside global stars such as Bryson DeChambeau and Ricky Fowler, Cobra have propelled themselves onto the world stage with some very ‘out there’ products. Bryson has been a huge innovator of the game and Cobra have bought into his methods and introduced products such as one length irons as well as an extremely competitive driver in the RadSpeed.
But can Cobra up their game for 2022 and release an even better driver? It’s seems hard, but if the rumours are true I believe they’ll smash it out the park.
Engineering breakthroughs don’t happen overnight. But, there is talk of Cobra’s newest driver to be named LTDx and like last years RadSpeed will feature 3 different heads; LTDx, Max and LS. In order for Cobra to stay competitive with the market leaders such as Callaway and TaylorMade this was completely necessary, plus it means that there is a driver head compatible for most-to-every golfer.
What makes this driver different? It seems the driver is a product of years of advancements in materials, weight placement, aerodynamics and artificial intelligence. One of the key features of the LTDx is the introduction of the PWR-COR Technology. This is a multi-material weighting system consisting of steel, titanium and aluminium positions mass low and forward to combine low spin with faster ball speed for maximised distance.
Alongside the PWR-COR is the H.O.T (Highly Optimised Topology) Face technology which uses artificial intelligence and Machine Learning to create the hottest face on the market. Strategic thicknesses are placed around the face to increase smash factor and ball speeds across the face.
The LTDx has three distinct performances, in three distinct head styles. The LTDx LS has a slightly different shaped head compared to its counterparts and is for the player that generates a lot of club head speed and needs keep their spin rates down to ensure distance is maximised. LTDx Max is a most forgiving head that has a draw bias setting- perfect for the player that has a right to left ball flight. Finally, the LTDx driver is the most forgiving driver head ever produced by Cobra and has recorded the highest amount of club head speed too- ideal for hitting bombs on the course (Bryson style).
