PowaKaddy CT6 GPS Review
The PowaKaddy CT6 is one of the finest electric trolleys on the market. Its stylish appearance and updated technology make it a very practical trolley for the everyday golfer. Let us dig into some of the key features of this trolley.
One key question when purchasing an electric trolley is, how easy is it to fold? Is it simple? The answer is yes. PowaKaddy has updated the folding mechanism to a simple 2-fold system, which allows the CT6 GPS to fold down 20 per cent smaller than previous models and the low profile chassis allows it to fit into even the smallest of car boots.
The looks are fantastic. A gunmetal frame and black and yellow body allow for a sleek appearance on the course. The weight of the frame without the battery is 9.9KG which still makes it a very lightweight trolley with all the latest technology crammed into it.
The CT6 comes in two options, the 18 and 36 hole lithium battery, with only 15 grams in weight separating the two. This is PowaKaddy’s new high power Plug’n’Play 30v battery system, which features a new top-mounted easy access on/off switch, a simple battery release latch and is an impressive 40% smaller than the previous model while maintaining 100% of its capacity. How long does the battery take to charge? Well, the battery is recommended to be charged for up to 12 hours and 24 hours before you are set to play, to ensure it is fully charged.
One of the standout features of this specific model is the GPS monitor located on the handle of the trolley. It is a brand new 2.8” OCA mid-size full-colour widescreen display and has a USB charging port for smartphones and GPS units. One thing to note with the CT6 GPS model is that the screen is not touch-sensitive and is controlled by the dial located in the centre on the handle
Obviously, the main feature of this trolley is the ability to move without any pushing. The user is able to set the automatic distance function to whatever speed they’re comfortable with, making it suitable for a whole host of players. The controls for the CT6 are extremely user friendly and the speed can be adjusted by a click of a button (or the turn of a dial).
How does this model compare to some of the other PowaKaddy trolleys, is this the best trolley? Well, it is certainly up there in terms of performance, yes. This trolley allows you to focus on the next shot and no worry about having to push, or calculate yardage, ultimately helping improve your game. Although the GPS monitor isn’t as large as say an FX7, that doesn’t make for less pleasant viewing.
