Callaway Epic Flash Golf Fairway Wood

The new Epic Flash Golf Fairway Wood employs a new Callaway technology called Flash Face to help golfers get more ball speed for more distance. That fabulous feeling you get when you make a good swing and flush one from the fairway? Flash Face technology helps make the ball go faster and further.

Flash Face's individual, internal mapping consists of dozens of subtle ripples flowing from heel to toe, these ripples appear random, they, in fact, work together cohesively to elevate COR (Coefficient of Restitution) in the middle of the face (basically, how much time the ball spends on the clubface). This results in significant ball speeds for exceptional distance increase, helping make your longest shots go even longer. Flash Face's complex structure was created by Artificial Intelligence. Callaway engineers used Artificial Intelligence and "Machine Learning" to create a radically different face design to increase ball speed in the centre region of the face, the first known instance of using A.I.in the golf equipment industry. A new clubface design typically takes eight to ten iterations. Through machine learning Callaway's computers cycled through 15,000 virtual prototypes, learning from each one, before arriving at Flash Face. The Epic Flash fairway wood again incorporates Callaway's innovative Jailbreak technology that promotes fast, face-wide speed. Two internal, hourglass-shaped Jailbreak bars connect the crown to the sole, supporting and stiffening those two parts at impact, allowing the face to take on greater impact load to generate fast ball speeds. Together, Flash Face and Jailbreak make the Epic Flash one of the most innovative and technologically advanced fairway woods in Callaway's history. Epic Flash also incorporates a new triaxial carbon fabric, called T2C, which has a closer weave that enables Callaway to take weight from the crown and reposition elsewhere in the head to create high MOI that is said to promote better distance and accuracy performance on mis-hits. Epic Flash also benefits from a new shorter, lighter hosel system. The saved weight is repositioned to optimize the centre of gravity for easy launch and long-carrying ball flight and allows Callaway to combine Jailbreak and adjustability for the first time in a fairway wood. Customers have a choice of three premium stock shaft options: Project X Even Flow 60, Tensei AV Blue 70, Project X HZRDUS Smoke 70.
